Civilization 7 is out, and although the game has been launched for a ‘mixed’ user review rating on Steam, the boss of the parent company Take-Two believes that hardcore fans of the series will eventually love it.
The 4x strategy -Firaxis followed is currently available for those who pay more for advanced access, usually more hardcore fans of civilization. And they certainly let their voices become known in Steam user reviews, in which problems with the user interface are emphasized, a lack of card variety and a feeling that the game has been launched without a number of functions that fans have expected.
Firaxis has responded to this feedback, promising improvements to the user interface, the addition of teams to multiplayer games so that people can play cooperative, and a greater variety of card types.

In an interview with IGN prior to the release of the financial results of the third quarter, recognized Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick that Civilization 7 had received some negative assessments from the press and players, with the 2/5 review of Eurogamer, but It said that the “Legacy CIV audience” will come, the more they play and called the early performance of Civilization 7 “very encouraging”.
“The metacritic reviews are on 81, which is really solid,” said Zelnick. “We have more than 20 press reviews with a score of more than 90. We also have some negative bijters, including a 40 from Eurogamer.
“We think that as people play the game longer, sentiment improves because with every launch of a new CIV the team pushes the envelope a little and our legacy civ -public is a bit nervous about what they initially see and then they realize themselves , wow, this is actually very incredible and they dive into it.
“So we feel really good at it. We know we have a few problems. For example, we have a bit of a problem with the user interface. We will tackle that. So I would not say that the early access release is perfect in every possible way. I find it very, very encouraging and I think the areas that relate to areas that we can and will tackle, and as you can see, we are very good. “

Zelnick’s mention of hardcore CIV players who are a bit nervous about CIV 7 in the launch, is no reference to some of the dramatic changes that Firaxis has made in the game.
A complete campaign in Civilization 7 is one that all three ages walks through: antiquity, exploration and modern. Once the age is completed, all players (and all AI opponents) experience an age transition at the same time. Three things happen during an age transition: you select a new civilization from the new era to represent you rich, you choose which legacies you want to keep in the new era, and the game world evolves. The civilization games have never had such a system. It is clear that Zelnick believes that CIV fans will love it over time.
In the shorter term, Firaxis has work to turn the sentiment, especially on steam. The assessment of Steam User Review of a Game is crucial for his success on the Valve platform. It is not only a very public indication of what a player base thinks of a game, but it influences visibility on Steam itself.
