In a statement to Nerdist, Zev Foreman of Hasbro Entertainment said the following:
“This is an exciting and complementary partnership that unites one of the world’s most iconic brands with a powerful and proven steward. Magic: The meeting has inspired decades of epic world construction and creative stories. It is a perfect match for the diversified approach to Legendary of Selection Framework IP, and we are delighted to work together to build a whole new magic: the collection universe. “
The latter bit of information is also an important part of Thursday’s news. In addition to a live action film, the collaboration also sees a television series. The series will not be related to the previously announced Netflix animation series, which was confirmed that it was still in production in September last year.
“In addition to the fantastic Hasbro team, we look forward to creating a multimedia universe that excites long -term fans and creates a broad wave of new,” said Legendary’s chairman of the worldwide production of Mary Parent.
Legendary has a legendary track record with IP
As film Connoisseurs may know, legendary entertainment is just as good as it is about translating beloved IP into multimedia projects.
In addition to the critical and commercially successful adjustments to Frank Herbert’s Dune series, Legendary was also responsible for the Detective Pikachu film, as well as the recent films of Godzilla and King Kong. Moreover, Legendary has already been tapped to help Sony with a Street Fighter movie, and are working hard on a live-action Gundam film, the first of its kind.
In other words, the company makes a great partner for Hasbro Entertainment, who has also renewed its own multimedia efforts. The transformers from 2024 One film was fairly well received, just like the Live-Action Dungeons and Dragon’s film from 2023. The wait may have been long, but it seems that the franchise will be in good hands.
