Judge refuses to limit DOGE’s access to the labor department systems

Washington – A federal judge on Friday rejected To limit the White House Department of Government Efficiency, the access of the Department of Labor Systems as members of the Task Force, led by billionaire Elon Musk are blowing About federal agencies As part of President Trump’s directive to lower the size of the government.

Judge John Bates of the American district refused to issue a temporarily limiting order, while the legal proceedings are continued in the court battle by six trade unions and the Economic Policy Institute.

“The claimants have not determined any status on the current record,” Bates wrote. “So although the court is concerned about the alleged behavior of the defendants, it must currently deny the motion of claimants.”

The trade unions have argued that the Task Force that is known as Doge violates multiple laws by requesting access to sensitive systems, including at the Treasury Department and Office or Personnel Management. With reference to the actions of DOG employees at the other agencies, lawyers from the trade unions said that the next target of the Musk-conducted body is the Ministry of Labor.

“They will require DOG staff access to systems from which they are legally excluded; they will dismiss every employee who protects the integrity of those systems; and they will claim the power and authority that the congress has never granted with regard to the Personnel of the Agency and Department Programs, ‘Trade Union lawyers wrote in an application.

Mark Samburg, who represents the trade unions, told Bates during a hearing that information from millions of people who are housed within the Department of Labor Systems exists a disadvantage of disclosure, of which he said it is the need for the court to step and the to limit access to doge.

He said that allowing do -up access to systems could remain a horrifying effect on the confidentiality of the labor department.

Michael Gerardi, a lawyer from the Ministry of Justice, defended the actions of Doge and said that the Task Force has access to the information to follow Mr Trump’s executive order by Mr. Trump’s order.

With reference to public media reports, the judge pushed back to the government’s lawyer and told him: “You ask me to give absolute confidence in the fact that nothing will happen” inexperience with government agencies.

Bates later told Gerardi that these are people from outside the Ministry of Labor “who have access to the systems for a reason that has nothing to do with why the system was created.”

Samburg then emphasized public reports that indicate that doge employees “regularly violate the law” and said there is a federal law that has set a series of standards for maintaining personal information.

The fast actions of Musk’s Doge and its employees have shocked the federal government because its employees have appeared at various federal agencies that have access to its systems and the information in them. Various lawsuits have been brought to the ability of Doge to get hold of the information.

A federal court earlier this week, DOG employees who worked at the Treasury department with access to payment record or record system. Those who can see that information have “only access” according to the judge’s order.
